Our CLICK program was implemented on July 3, 2013 in an effort to further extend our community outreach efforts. The purpose of our program is to provide services and support to our members and the community, in particular families that will assist them in developing their full potential as parents, students and community members. As a result of our efforts, the CLICK program provides services to approximately 40 students weekly. This included a free dinner, nutrition lessons, Bible lessons and activities, art classes, character development instructions, and homework support.
As our students range from Pre-K to 12th grade, our CLICK program strives to serve as a bridge between parents and schools by offering support to families and assist them in strengthening that bond. This includes support for academic needs, as well as providing parents with the information and skills needed to be successful advocates for their children.
The Lansing COGIC food bank opened its doors in July of 2008. Since this time, we have served thousands of families throughout the Greater Lansing community. We have numerous volunteers, each person bringing a wealth of excitement to the pantry. Originally a call center for Ingham County, the pantry recently became a stand-alone call center in which clients call the church to schedule appointments, as needed.
We are a pantry of CHOICE so the orders are not ready when the clients come in they actually pick the items they want to prevent waste. As we strive to be the best pantry on the South Side of Lansing, we take pride in serving a wonderful community.
